Ultrasonic sensors are devices that use ultrasonic sound waves to measure the distance to an object or to detect the presence of an object. They work by emitting a pulse of ultrasonic sound waves (usually at a frequency higher than humans can hear, typically around 40 kHz) and then measuring the time it takes for the sound wave to bounce back to the sensor after hitting an object. This time delay is used to calculate the distance to the object based on the speed of sound. The new component will assist with the final robot that will be built.
